The holidays are taking on a new meaning for me this year. Usually, I spend time with family in the city or we go away somewhere hot and sunny. This year we won’t be doing either just like the majority of people we know who have to be socially distanced.
That does not mean that we will not be celebrating. It will be just different. The house will be decorated, but I will skip the tree as the young cat that we adopted is a climber and nothing, I mean nothing is safe from her.
Dealing with a Socially Distanced Holiday Season
I will be baking bunches of cookies, bark and bird’s nests (chow Mein noodles with melted chocolate, dried cranberries and crushed pistachio nuts) to give away as gifts. I might even look at buying a few Virtual Holiday Party Packages from Vantage Venues for close relatives and friends that like to drink wine and would enjoy a fun presentation from our Chef Kyle McClure and The Wine Sisters Sommelier Erin Henderson.
Maybe I will even make some candles, I mean how hard can it be?
It doesn’t matter how we spend it. I know in my heart that the holiday season is with us the entire year, we just need to find it and when the day comes that we can all get together it will be a PARTY!!!
Til then I am going to fire up the BBQ and have steak and lobster during the holiday season. That is going to be my gift to myself.
Wishing everyone a very Happy Holiday Season and a great New Year!!!
